The simple steps and ingredients guarantee there is absolutely no way anyone, however hopeless in cooking, can screw it up.

Never heard of the potato pizza? That's because it was created for someone who is so clueless in the kitchen. The potato pizza is not fancy, much less famous. But please do not pooh-pooh the potato pizza, because it is actually nutritious, tasty and so easy to do anyone can make it. And that's a guarantee.

The humble potato pizza does not require any culinary skills, except simple cutting. This makes it the ideal recipe for people who do not have a lot of time on their hands, such as working parents and college students.

Ingredients

  • Potatoes
  • Green peppers
  • Ham or bacon
  • Onions
  • Cheese slices

How to Make the Potato Pizza:

  1. Peel and slice the potatoes into circles about half a centimeter thick
  2. Slice the green peppers.
  3. Slice the onions (tip: slicing onions while keeping them under water in a bowl will prevent crying; so does stuffing one's nose with tissue papers while slicing).
  4. Put the potato slices evenly in a shallow pan.
  5. Spread the green peppers and onion slices on top of the potato slices.
  6. Add the ham or bacon on top of the green peppers and onion slices.
  7. Cover everything with the cheese slices.
  8. Cover the pan with a lid and cook with medium heat.
  9. Occasionally check if the potato slices are fully cooked (hint: if they can be broken when bent with chopsticks, they are ready).
  10. Scoop out everything and put on a dish, if desired.

The potato pizza is ready to be enjoyed!

Health and Taste Benefits of the Potato Pizza

Did you notice that absolutely no oil is used? So not only is the potato pizza oil-free, it is also a balanced meal, due to the potatoes (carbohydrates), vegetables (vitamins and minerals), and meat and dairy (protein).

The cheese is like the icing on a cake; it provides an extra kick of taste and also does the heavy work of convincing children to eat their veggies! For those who want to eat even more healthily, low-fat cheese slices could be used instead.

After consuming the potato pizza, one should feel fulfilled and have more energy for the day (not to mention more time, since the recipe is such a breeze to do). Cleaning up is also a no-brainer, because the potato pizza can actually be eaten straight out of the pan!

The best part about the potato pizza is that one can mix and match the middle ingredients, depending on one's moods and preferences. So in reality, far from being boring, the potato pizza is truly a super recipe that practically anyone can follow and achieve.
