American Cups

Converting American cups into grams or ounces is slightly more complicated as it depends on the products. A complete table using alphabetical order is the solution for the conversions. However for a quick conversion, 1 cup is 80z or 225g.

Converting Liquids

A word of warning when using British recipes, American cooks need to be aware of the fact that pints if called the same mean something different.

US pint = 473 ml,

UK pint = 568 ml,

That is a substantial difference of about 20% larger, which could ruin a recipe.

More and more cookbook authors are aware of their international audiences and it is common to find conversion charts as an appendix at the end of a book.

E-Converter

When using an e-converter, it is important that the converter is easy to use, and as accurate as possible.

As there does not seem to be the advance of a universal weight measurement, it is important to get one's own strategies which will make the cooking process as easy as it should be.
